Energizing Juice with Lemon, Ginger, Apple, and Greens

Feeling a bit sluggish? Need an afternoon pick me up?

Instead of reaching for that iced caramel latte, try this juice recipe that will give you energy without taxing your adrenals and spiking your insulin levels.

Ingredients
  • 1 lemon partially peeled Hint: You can leave on some of the peel for a zestier taste
  • 2 green apples
  • 1 large cucumber
  • 4 stalks of celery
  • 1 bunch of parsley
  • 1 bunch of Kale
  • 2 inch slice of fresh ginger

Throw all ingredients into a juicer and juice away. Makes 2 servings.

Want an extra bump of energy that will sustain your juice buzz?

Of course you do! Stir in a teaspoon or 2 of organic olive or coconut oil. Adding fat will help those micronutrients get into your cells as well as keep your blood sugar levels in check.

What’s so great about this juice?

Well it’s cleansing, detoxifying, healthy, and helps to balance out your electrolytes.

Lemons are rich in free radical fighting antioxidants like vitamin C as well as flavinoids and electrolytes.

Green apples add a bit but not too much of sweetness. High in high in polyphenols, green apples contain quercetin that can help calm down a histamine reaction.

Cucumbers have a high water content which will help stay hydrated. Cucumbers are also good for the kidneys because they help to lower uric acid levels. Also, the sterols in cucumber may help reduce cholesterol.

Celery is high in phytonutrients. Studies show it’s anti inflammatory properties reduce cardiovascular inflammation while the phthalides that make up celery’s unique taste help to lower blood pressure.

Parsley just might just be the world’s healthiest food! Super duper high in vitamin K, parsley’s volitile oils help inhibit tumor formation and assist the body with detoxification.

Kale is a great leafy green that’s high in vitamin A, C, and K as well as antioxidants.

Ginger adds a spicy punch to your drink that’s guaranteed to wake you up. The strangely looking anti inflammatory yellow root is great for tummy distress and alleviates pain.

Drink up and Enjoy!
